Area 51 Annihilation | Escape Room Mystery in Cherry Hill, NJ

We did a 2 day, 4 college tour stint...but there is always time for an escape room.  We had finished touring Rowan University when our mom challenged us to find a room in the near vicinity (or at least indirection we were heading) and needed to be available in an hour or two. Challenge accepted.

The booking system wouldn't let us book for just 3 people, was a minimum of 4. Mom called them and they were very accommodating and booked the 3 of us over the phone.

The lobby of  Escape Room Mystery is very large. The carpet really does a mind thing when you enter (see the first picture below). The pattern is so busy you feel unbalanced - whether intended or not, it works. The walls were filled with hand-drawn rectangles that had names and dates of teams that completed rooms which was a very nice touch!

It is a cement-walled multiroom game. There are plenty of surprises and challenges waiting. This one is not the typical themed room, and the ambiance and decor were nice. At times it is dimly lit and that does work against you is no extra lighting.  The room could use a little TLC and some materials were very cheap which actually did take away from the rest of the room.

The room was fun. Encountered new styles of puzzles which is always a plus. We had a few moments of stubbornness. We got stuck. My mom wanted a hint, but my brother didn't. My mom won. She decided to ask for a hint and told us not to look at the monitor and she would read it and tell us only if we were on the right track or not. We were overthinking it.

2:20 left on the clock.

All in all, a very good experience.
